Fraunhofer Center for Assistive Information and Communication Solutions – AICOSFraunhofer AICOS’s collaborators carried on a solidarity campaign in December with the objective of contributing to Cáritas Porto efforts to make many people’s Christmas a little better.
AICOS joined the initiative by doubling the collaborators’ contribution and the resulting amount was used to purchase many alimentary supplies that were donated to Cáritas.
Therefore, on the 22nd December three representatives from Cáritas visited Fraunhofer AICOS offices to collect the goods and to show their appreciation for the initiative.
Barros Marques (President of Caritas Porto board), Ana Maria Coelho (Director) and Alexandra Coelho (the institution’s youngest volunteer) expressed their appreciation towards AICOS’s collaborators and Board for the campaign and contribution.
Cáritas Porto is a solidarity institution that supports people who need food, clothes, health or social support. At the moment, about 500 families and 1393 people are benefitting from Cáritas Porto’s assistance.
This was the first solidarity campaign by Fraunhofer AICOS, that is already running another initiative, until the 6th January, to collect toys and clothes for the “Paróquia de Paranhos”.
