Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS will participate in the workshop WAMS 2013 (Workshop em Aplicações Móveis em Saúde – mHealth Apps Workshop) with the project Melanoma Detection.
This workshop is aimed at students, researchers, healthcare professionals and all the public interested in this theme.
The purpose of the workshop is to present mobile applications in the health area, developed and implemented in Portugal, to discuss their potential and constraints.
It also includes a demonstration of mobile applications and interaction with the public.
AICOS’ researcher Luis Rosado will participate in the workshop, submitting the Melanoma Detection project, which intends to create a prototype for a patient-oriented system of skin lesion analysis using a smartphone. This work aims to implement a self-monitoring system that collects processes and storages information of skin lesions through its automatic classification.
The event will be held the 13th February 2013 at 14:30 – 18:00 in the auditorium of the Centro de Investigação Médica da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto.
