FhP-AICOS Empowers UFPA students with Hands-on Workshop

26.03.2025

As part of an ongoing collaboration, FhP-AICOS’ researchers José Costa and Fernando Rego led a hands-on workshop on March 14th, 2025, introducing the Kallisto Sensor Platform to researchers from the Laboratory of Smart and Sustainable Cities (LaCiS) at the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), who are also members of the INCT ICoNIoT.

The workshop, lasting 90 minutes, focused on presenting the Kallisto Sensor Platform, an advanced IoT solution designed for diverse applications, including environmental monitoring and sustainability efforts in the Amazon region. The session covered key topics such as IoT use case definition, platform functionalities, and practical experiments with the Kallisto Sensor Platform.

Waldir Júnior, senior researcher at FhP-AICOS and a collaborator at INCT ICoNIoT, organized the workshop and provided Kallisto kits to LaCiS/UFPA. The initiative aligns with the environmental monitoring research led by Prof. Dr. Denis do Rosário (UFPA) within INCT ICoNIoT.

The workshop aimed to strengthen collaboration between UFPA and FhP-AICOS, fostering the development and deployment of intelligent and innovative IoT solutions for sustainability and environmental monitoring in the Amazon region. Other INCT ICoNIoT partners are encouraged to join this research effort.
