Description:
Patient information security and privacy are central topics when it comes to Electronic Health Records nowadays. The patient data should not only be completely protected and in control of the patient, but also be readily available if needed in any part of the world, to allow the patient to be treated in the best possible scenario. These two requirements are in the opposite spectrums in the field of security and data access. With this topic we intend to study the available development solutions to allow this kind of flexibility where the data owner is in control, but the records can be made readily available if needed. We intend to explore distributed ledger technologies to allow for this, while maintaining interoperability, responsiveness, scalability and above all security!
Besides the study of this type of platforms the end goal is to have prototype implementation to serve as a proof of concept with the integration of healthcare standards such as FHIR.
Outcome:
- Flexible Prototype demo
- Documented study of existing solutions and platforms applied to Healthcare
