Description:
This project objective is the creation of a simpler smart-surfboard system that takes advantage of the advances of miniaturized low-cost IoT technology to collect data for future surfing performance analysis. The system should collect IMU and GPS data (at least), to enable posterior movement and position characterization.
Outcome:
Create and embed a sensing unit with (at least) IMU and GPS modules in a surfboard, as a proof-of-concept smart-surfboard system. This system should be able to communicate with external modules for data collection/storage, and take into consideration other design aspects, namely waterproofing, power supply and charging mechanism.
